Forest, meadow and snow on a classic Kasol route, crossing a 13,800 ft pass with a snow-slide descent.

Sar Pass is one of the most popular treks out of Kasol, a varied route through forests, meadows and a small frozen lake, crossing a 13,800 ft pass with a signature snow-slide descent on the far side.
Drive from Kasol and trek to Grahan, a remote Himachali village surrounded by forest.
Trek through forest and open meadow to the Min Thach campsite.
Climb to Nagaru, the high camp with sweeping views used as the base for the pass crossing.
Summit day: cross Sar Pass (13,800 ft), often sliding down the snow on the far side, then descend to Biskeri Thach.
Final descent to Barshaini and drive back to Kasol, concluding the trek.
Timings and campsites can change with weather, trail conditions and the pace of the group. Your trek leader makes the final call on the day.
Moderate
Sar Pass is graded Moderate: a well-trodden route with one demanding summit day involving snow. Suitable for reasonably fit beginners with some prior walking or light trekking experience.
The highest point on this trek is about 13,800 ft. At this height many people feel the thinner air: headaches, poor sleep or loss of appetite are common early signs of altitude sickness. Drink water, walk at a steady pace and tell your trek leader straight away if you feel unwell. The usual first response to worsening symptoms is to stop climbing or descend.
Your trek leader or guide may change the plan, wait out bad weather or turn the group around if conditions or anyone's health make it unsafe to continue. Please tell us about any medical conditions or medication when you enquire, and carry a personal first-aid kit.
Best done May-June (fresh snow for the slide descent) or October-February (clear autumn/winter conditions, colder temperatures). Avoided during the monsoon.
Starting price₹7,000per person

Kasol is the base, reachable by road from Bhuntar Airport (Kullu) or by overnight bus/cab from Delhi via Manali. Go Karavan arranges the transfer to the Grahan trailhead.
On the descent from the pass, trekkers often slide down a long snow slope, a highlight of the trek for many.
It's rated Moderate; reasonably fit beginners can join, but the summit day is demanding.
Snow is common, especially in the May-June window, though conditions vary year to year.
Sar Pass is one of the most popular treks from Kasol, especially in peak season. Small-group departures help keep it personal.
